Makeup Monday: Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation Review
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a good Monday. I bought Makeup Forever’s new foundation, the Ultra HD foundation, over the weekend from Sephora and wore it today. I want to share with you all its description, what I thought of it, and if I would recommend it. If you’re thinking of trying it and you’re wondering if it’s worth it then you’ve come to the right place!
XO Catherine
This chart converts the shade number of the regular HD foundation into the Ultra HD foundation shade (bold numbers). For example, if you were a 118 in their HD foundation then you will be a Y325 in their Ultra HD foundation. I really recommend going into the store and trying it out though because 117 was my best match in the HD foundation but in their Ultra HD foundation my best match was R230 which converts to 115.
- Full Name: Make Up Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation
- Country of Manufacture: France
- Available in 40 shades. The shade range is excellent because I have fair skin and I have trouble finding foundation that’s light enough for skin and I found the perfect match. There’s also shades even lighter than the one I chose.
- The first foundation designed for 4K technology
- Price: $43
- “My goal was to cope with the new 4k technology while keeping the main benefits of HD Foundation. Ultra HD Foundation had to meet the perfection needs of pros as well as the everyday needs of all women.”—Dany Sanz, MAKE UP FOR EVER Founder and Creative Director.
- Medium/Buildable Coverage
- I applied this with a foundation brush and then buffed it out with the Beauty Blender (Click HERE for my review on the Beauty Blender).
- My take: This foundation has a nice consistency and a nice/natural looking finish but It’s not a full coverage foundation. If you have some acne marks or scars you will definitely need to use a concealer in those areas. I have combination/oily skin and by the end of the day (5pm) my skin appeared oily after doing a powder touch up at around 1pm. I didn’t use a mattifying primer but if I did it might have lasted or came out a little better.
- Would I buy this again? Maybe but probably not just because I would like something that’s a little more full coverage.
- Would I recommend this foundation? If you have oily skin and need to cover up acne scars, birth marks, etc., then I say no. If you’re looking for a medium coverage foundation and don’t need any extra coverage and have combination/dry skin then I say yes.
