Summer 2016 Vacation: Charleston, SC
Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. Summer has come to an end and it’s the first day of fall so I wanted to do one last summer post. At the end of July I went on vacation to Charleston, South Carolina. I went to Charleston earlier this year in March to get on my cruise but I didn’t get a chance to see or do anything there. I had a really nice time although it was EXTREMELY hot and humid; I only spent a couple of hours on the beach. I put together a little compilation of what I wore, what I did, and what I ate. If you find yourself in the Charleston area or plan to go there on vacation, maybe you can check out some of these places.

Day 1
My first day there I didn’t go out and do a lot of things since I got there late in the day but I did end up going to this REALLY good restaurant called ‘Crave Kitchen and Cocktails.‘ This was by far my favorite restaurant that I went to while I was here. The food was really amazing and for me to say that takes a lot because I’m not impressed easily. This restaurant is a must-visit if you’re in the Charleston area.

Day 3
My third day in Charleston I visited the Boone Hall Plantation. It’s located in Mount Pleasant, Charleston and is one of the top rated plantations to visit in the country. There’s many events that go on here throughout the year because it’s still a functioning plantation. They grow many different crops including corn, tomatoes, squash, peppers, blueberries, peaches, and there are also pecan trees. In the fall they have a corn maze and I think wine tasting. The oak trees leading up to the planation house are truly stunning, one of them is 300 years old! Many movies and TV shows were filmed here as well, one of them being The Notebook. The scene where Noah and Allie are in a boat surrounded by swans was filmed on the lake located in the planation. There is definitely wildlife around because the plantation is right next to a marsh so make sure you are careful, I came within 5 feet of a snake!
Outfit Details: Shorts from H&M, crop top from TjMaxx, Cole Haan sandals, Franco Sarto crossbody bag from TjMaxx, Michael Kors sunglasses and watch, hat from Forever21, and earrings from a local boutique here in Charlotte called City Art Works.
Later in the day:
I went out to dinner at this place called Fill Restaurant and Piano bar, it was interesting because I had never been to a piano bar before but I didn’t really like the songs the performers were playing that much. The food was pretty good though, I had a shrimp and arugula pizza.
Outfit details: Same bag, sandals and watch as mentioned before, crochet top was purchased from a local beach store, and the skirt is from Urban Outfitters
Day 4
My last day in Charleston was a pretty relaxing day. I spent half of the day by the hotel pool until a possum got into the pool area lol! Then later on I did some shopping at the Mount Pleasant Town Centre which is basically an outdoor mall with a lot of stores and restaurants. Then I went out to dinner at a seafood restaurant called Boathouse at Breach Inlet. The view was really nice but the food wasn’t anything spectacular. By far my favorite restaurant I went to while in Charleston was the one I went to the first night I got there.
Outfit Details: Same shoes as mentioned in day 1, skirt by Lush, tank top from Forever 21, Necklace from Francesca’s, clutch from Gap
