Makeup Monday: Chanel Foundation
Happy Makeup Monday! I want to tell you guys about Chanel’s Perfection Lumiere foundation that I bought and tried for the first time. I basically love everything about Chanel. As far as makeup I had only tried Chanel’s lipglosses and mascara, which I love, but I also wanted to try their foundation. I went to the Chanel counter at Nordstrom on Sunday and the woman working there matched my skin to the correct foundation color and applied it. She also applied some concealer, blush, and bronzer. Overall I fell in love with the whole look and my skin looked great so I bought the foundation. It’s quite pricey at $57 but I had already been spending $47 on the foundation I normally wear so I was like why not try this, plus it’s Chanel.
Here’s a few key points about the foundation and my opinion on it:
- Coverage? Buildable but no higher than medium
- Smells great, probably the nicest smelling foundation ever!
- Semi-matte
- Flawless? Not quite since it’s not full coverage. You will need a concealer for your blemishes, spots, etc.
- Stays on pretty nicely throughout the day, if you have oily skin you might need to touch up your face once.
- Definitely has a liquid consistency as opposed to a cream consistency but it’s not super runny
- Worth the money? No. I say this because it’s not a full coverage foundation and if I’m going to be spending this much on a foundation I want it to be a little more flawless looking. If you don’t have any blemishes or spots to cover up this may be a good choice for you though.
