Come Fly with Me: My Top 10 Travel Items

Hello everyone! I recently flew to Miami for spring break and I got inspired to write a post about some stylish yet useful items to travel with. Unless you are checking in a bag, substances you bring on a plane have restrictions. For example, all liquids and gels have to be 3 fl oz. or under, no weapons, you know the drill. With that being said, I’m going to list my top 10 travel must have travel items that are TSA approved!

XO Catherine

1. Mints: I picked these up in the airport and thought they were cute because they’re mini! Let’s be honest, nothing is worse than being stuck on a plane with bad breath, especially if you’ve just eaten something. You don’t want to greet your friends and family with stale stinky breath. These are perfect solution and won’t take up much space!

2. Rollerball Perfumes: These are under 3 fl oz. but don’t let their small size fool you, they pack the same punch as a regular sized perfume and are great for freshening up during your travels! We’ve all sat next to the guy who pulls out that stinky, greasy food that he just bought in the airport and it starts emulating throughout the plane. Do you want to smell like that? I don’t think so. I bought my rollerball from Sephora.

3. Hand Sanitizer: GERMS GERMS GERMS!!! I don’t even want to know how many germs are in an airport. It’s always best to wash your hands but if you can’t get to a bathroom, hand sanitizer is your next best option. I like the ones from Bath & Body Works and yes, they’re TSA approved 🙂

4. Sephora Beauty on the Fly Bag: I picked this up actually once I got to Miami and I love it. Let me first start off by saying the Sephora on Collins Ave. has the best travel size selection I have seen thus far in a Sephora! If you have flown before, you know you have to put your liquids and gels inside of a zip lock bag. This TSA approved bag is of course stylish but also more durable because zip lock bags can rip and get holes (mine did). My Sephora bag was free because I bought 3 travel size items as well. I’m not sure if this offer stands at all Sephora locations but definitely check it out!

5. Travel Tissue: I definitely wouldn’t travel without this and I carry it around it my purse as well. You never know when you might need a tissue.

6. Travel Size Lysol Spray: Going back to what I was saying about germs, I think this is a must as well. You can spray this on fabrics and surfaces. I really don’t like using public bathrooms but if I have to and suspect that it’s unclean, then I will spray this on the toilet seat and wipe it off. Yes I do this and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I wouldn’t call myself a “germaphobe” but I do like to be as sanitary as possible.

7. Travel Size Hairspray: I have curly, frizzy-prone hair and I travel with hairspray all the time! It’s great for touch ups. The one I use is the Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier hairspray by John Frieda.

8. Mini Emergency Kit: These are stylish, useful, and compact! They have almost everything you can think of. You never know when you might need something inside of one of these and they have them for men as well! I bought mine from Sephora.

9. Hand Cream: During these winter months especially, my hands have been dry and I always carry and travel with a hand cream. I like the small compact Nivea Creme.

10. Nail File: You never know when your nail is going to break and then end up getting caught on your favorite sweaters. I have a Tweezerman nail file that I bought from Sephora and I like that it came with a protective case because I’ve just thrown nail files into my purse before and they end up scratching up the inside of my purse as well as other items in there. Finally, someone got it right!
