Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Flawless Foundation Review
Hello fashion and makeup lovers! I recently bought and tried Chanel’s new foundation, the Le Teint Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Foundation (could they have possibly made the name any longer lol) and I want to give my overall thoughts on it. If you don’t keep up with Chanel makeup, this foundation replaced the Perfection Lumiere Foundation. For those of you who already know this, you’re probably mad about it. I was using the Perfection Lumiere for over a year and I was shocked (and pissed) when I found out it got discontinued! I have no idea why they decided to do this; it was a good foundation and people were buying it. I’m going to list some facts about it and some key differences when compared to the Perfection Lumiere foundation and then give my overall thoughts. Hope you find this review helpful!
XO Catherine

Details & Comparison to the Perfection Lumiere Foundation:
- 16 shades- I spoke to a woman working at the Chanel counter in Nordstrom and she told me that these shades run a little lighter than the shades of the Perfection Lumiere foundation. I was a 12 Beige Rosé in the Perfection Lumiere and with this foundation I’m a 22 Beige Rosé.
- No SPF whereas the Perfection Lumiere had SPF 15
- Price: $60 (Perfection Lumiere was $57)
- Coverage: Buildable medium to full
- Matte finish
- Excellent Staying power
- Best for combination-oily to oily skin- I have oily skin and since this is such a matte foundation I found it to have excellent staying power and I didn’t find myself getting oily! I didn’t need to do any powder touch-ups. I read a lot of reviews where people said this foundation is too drying and it dries up quickly when trying to put it on, this is why I don’t recommend this foundation to people who have combination-dry to dry skin. It does dry up quickly when trying to put it on and the woman at the Chanel counter warned me about this so as soon as you put it on your face start blending it in and you should be fine. Also use a damp beauty blender to put it on, it helps. If you do have drier skin and still want to try this it might help to put on a moisturizer first or a moisturizing primer; do not use a mattifying primer under this.
- Overall thoughts: The staying power, the coverage, and the color match of this foundation is good. It also has a nice smell like the Perfection Lumiere but it’s just a different smell. I like both foundations but I think I liked the Perfection Lumiere more because it wasn’t as heavy. Also the price is $3 higher so that is a con. Bottom line- I like this foundation and I recommend it to anyone who tends to have oily skin and needs great staying power and coverage.
