Best & Worst Dressed at the 2015 Met Gala

The Met Gala, also known as the Met Ball, was Monday May 4th. If you’re unfamiliar with the Met Gala, it is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in NYC. This year’s theme was Chinese fashion because their spring 2015 Costume Institute exhibit is called “China: Through the Looking Glass.”  There were some great looks that did a good job utilizing this year’s theme while some other looks were just…bad. My choices are based on my personal preferences and I want to see if you agree, let me know in the comments!

Top 5 Best Dressed

5. Jennifer Lawrence in Raf Simons

jlaw

J-Law’s makeup is completely FLAWLESS, let’s just start with that. I also like this gown because it stuck to the theme of the event and wasn’t over the top or tacky.

4. Kate Beckinsale in Diane von Furstenberg

kate beckinsale

Kate’s look is perfect from head to toe! Her hair is flawless and this gown is perfectly tailored to her body. Love it!

3. Kendall Jenner in Calvin Klein

kendall jenner

I really love the color and structure of this gown.

2. Kate Hudson in Michael Kors

I love this gold gown and she looks amazing! She did a great job of interpreting the theme in a classy and elegant way.

1. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Atelier Versace

rosie

Rosie looks absolutely stunning in this gown!!! Like they say, it’s the woman who makes the dress, not the dress that makes the woman. This look is simple yet glamorous and edgy and her makeup is on point!

5. FKA Twigs in Christopher Kane

fka_twigs

This dress is um…different. I get that it’s artsy but it’s strange and has nothing to do with the theme of the event. There is also male genitalia near the slit of her dress…sometimes art is better left on the walls.

4. Madonna in Moschino

madonna

This whole look is messy and tacky. Sorry Madonna.

3. The Olsen Twins in vintage Dior by John Galliano

olsen twins

These gowns make them look shorter than they are, are ill-fitting, and morbid looking. Enough said.

2. Solange Knowles in Giles

solange

I don’t want to be harsh but WTH is this?!? It look’s like some outer space-flying saucer concoction. I don’t see how this has anything to do with the theme at all. Solange is always wearing strange and for lack of a better word, ugly ensembles to events. She needs to fire her stylist ASAP.

1. Jamie Bochert in Marc Jacobs

jamie

I don’t even know where to start with this…it’s just terrible. This should never be worn anywhere, ever.
