Best and Worst Dressed at the 2015 Oscars

Hello everyone! As I’m sure most of you know, last night was the 87th annual Academy Awards or as better known, the Oscars. It was such a great show with moving performances and acceptance speeches. Even if you didn’t watch last night, articles about everything that went on are flooding the internet and you can read about what happened. As I did for the Golden Globes, I’m going to pick 5 celebrity women that are best dressed and then another 5 for worst dressed, but I’m also going to change it up a bit. I want to incorporate some men’s fashion into my blog so I’m going to choose some male celebrities who I think deserve best and worst dressed as well. I hope you all enjoy this post and if you have any questions you can comment below or email me at fashionwithcatherine@yahoo.com

Have a nice day! 🙂

Top 5 Worst Dressed Female Celebrities

5. Chrissy Teigen in Zuhair Murad

Chrissy Teigen looks great but this dress is not Oscars appropriate! The slit in the front goes up way too high and it might not have been bad if that was the only revealing aspect but there’s also a plunging neckline. The Oscar’s are a formal and classy event and that should be reflected in the attire you are wearing. This may have been a better choice for the Grammys.

4. Nicole Kidman in Louis Vuitton

This dress wasn’t doing it for me. Overall it looked cheap with the sequins and plastic-looking red belt. Not terrible but she could have done better.

3. Lorelei Linklater in Gabriela Cadena

I will admit that I’m not too familiar with this actress but I really don’t like this dress. She’s beautiful but this looks a little geisha-like and looks a tad trashy. Also while looking through the photos she looked a little unsure of herself as if she was lacking confidence; confidence is key! It’s not only about the dress it’s about the woman in the dress!

2. Solange Knowles in Christian Siriano

solange

This looks like an awful dress/jumper mash-up. This is ill-fitting and there’s just too much fabric; this wasn’t doing it for me.

1. Lady Gaga in Azzedine Alaia

rs_634x1024-150222171128-634-lady-gaga-oscars

Lady Gaga is beautiful and this dress isn’t terrible but what was she thinking with these gloves?!? These are worse than Amal Clooney’s gloves at the Golden Globes; it looks like she’s about to go clean a bathroom! There are some rumors that she wore gloves to hide her engagement ring but who knows. On the bright side, at least she wasn’t wearing another meat dress and her performance was AMAZING!

5. Sienna Miller in Oscar de la Renta

rs_634x1024-150222161735-634-sienna-miller-academy-awards_jw_22215

This dress is beautiful, I love the detail and the navy and black color combo. It’s tailored nicely to her body and her hair and makeup looks amazing!

4. Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab

Jennifer Lopez looks STUNNING in this Elie Saab ball gown. She has looked amazing all award season but I’m glad she decided to wear something a little less revealing and more classy to the Oscars; good job JLO!

3. Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent

rs_634x1024-150222153646-634-margot-robbie-oscars_ls_22215

This look is perfection from head to toe! The dress is amazing, her hair is amazing, and her makeup is amazing. Her necklace is an antique Van Cleef and Arpels piece. It is composed of diamonds and sapphires set in 18K yellow gold. As quoted by her on the red carpet “It was created for the Duchess of Windsor or something in the ’30s.” With all of that being said, it looks great with her dress and definitely makes her look like royalty.

2. Rosamund Pike in Givenchy

rs_634x1024-150222161026-634_Rosamund-Pike-Oscars_jl_022215

This is the best Rosamund Pike has looked all award season! This dress is gorgeous and fits her body like a glove! I like the texture in this dress and it accentuates her waist very nicely; I also like the slit in the front. She looks phenomenal considering she had a baby not too long ago!

1. Emma Stone in Elie Saab

rs_634x1024-150222170848-634-emma-stone-oscars

Emma Stone is my number 1 pick for best dressed! She looks so amazing!! This color looks great with her hair and complexion; it’s also a very unique color that you usually don’t see on the red carpet. I like the beading and it reminds me of a dress one might see in the 1920s. I love it, so classy!

Worst Dressed Male Celebrities

3. Jason Bateman in Prada

He doesn’t look bad but this is a bow tie event, not an office tie event. Also, his wife wore pants and a top; they must not have gotten the memo.

2. Jared Leto in Givenchy

rs_634x1024-150222171815-634_Jared-Leto-Academy-Awards_ms_022215

First things first, his pants are badly tailored. I do not like the color of this suit and I don’t like the white shoes. It looks like he should be going to an ’80s prom.

1. Will.i.am (designer not specified)

No, just no.

3. David Oyelowo in Dolce and Gabbana

rs_634x1024-150222162728-634-david-oyeloyo-oscars_ls_22215

I love the color of this suit! It’s nice to see a different color suit on the red carpet. This is tailored nicely and it flatters him. Nice job David, your fashion risk paid off!

2. Miles Teller in Prada

rs_634x1024-150222165649-634_Miles-Teller-Oscars_jl_022215

Miles looks great for his first Oscars! I love that he chose a navy suit over a typical black suit.

1. Chris Evans in Gucci

rs_634x1024-150222174030-634-chris-evans-oscars_ls_22215

We all know Chris Evans in gorgeous but this suit is equally just as gorgeous! It looks impeccable; very clean and nicely tailored. Overall a very classy look.
